Steel grade 12X13 (old designation 1X13, EJ1) is a chromium steel of the martensitic-ferritic class. The steel is resistant to oxidation in the air at temperatures up to 800 °C. With a surface treatment purity of at least ∇7 and in the passivated state, the steel has satisfactory corrosion resistance. Steel is smelted in open electric furnaces and by electroslag remelting. Steel is deformed in hot and cold conditions. The temperature range of deformation is 1150-900 °C.
